ALMOST THERE

You’re ALMOST THERE – please don’t give up,
Though the journey’s been long and the road has been rough.

For you’re that much closer than you were before,
To your date with destiny on a distant shore.

You’re ALMOST THERE - just keep going,
The light at the end of the tunnel is growing.

You’re nearing the moment of justification,
There’s that almost home anticipation.

You’re ALMOST  THERE – carry on somehow,
The miracle is just ahead of you now.

Where you become the person you’re meant to be,
Where you break the cycle and set yourself free.

Where you achieve a goal a lifetime in the making,
Where you receive a gift that’s been yours for the taking. 

You’re ALMOST THERE – victory is at hand,
You’re on the doorstep of the Promised Land.

Where you understand what your pain was for,
Where you see God take action to settle the score.  

Where your fear is finally put to rest,
Where your faith has effectively passed the test.

You’re ALMOST THERE – in just a moment,
The dusk will dawn for your day of atonement.

Where you refine your soul, so it is prepared,
Where you heal your heart, so it is repaired.

Where you learn the lesson that needed some time,
Where you finally reach your finish line.

Remember, in the grand scheme of things your life is brief,
It only feels long when you suffer in grief.

During these times when life is not fair,
Just keep moving along - you’re ALMOST THERE.
