EASTER (SUPERBOWL) SUNDAY
EASTER (SUPERBOWL) SUNDAY - I heard it was a fun day.
Although, at first, things were not looking GOOD,
FRIDAY-night-lights weren’t shining like they should.
Humankind was behind,
The clock was running out of time.
To make matters worse, they had suffered a loss,
Their star player had been hung on a cross.
His blood was spilled all over the field,
And the evil enemy just wouldn’t yield.
The eleven players left were all filled with doubt,
Wondering what to do during a three-day time out.
‘Game on’ was called, they thought they were done,
Then a cheerleader came shouting ‘wait, the game can be won!’
“For look who it is, back from the dead,
Your team captain, just like He said”,
He strolled out with a smile to calmly say,
”Take heart, have faith, there’s one more play…
It’s a real Hail Mary, an act of God’s,
But it’s bound to work against all odds,
So give me your hands, and in my name,
We’re claiming the victory over this game.”
An audible called; grace is given,
Mercy’s received and all is forgiven.
A straight arm here, a spin-move there,
They march down the field on a wing and a prayer.
The team simply followed the sound of His voice,
Touchdown… Hallelujah… the crowds rejoice!
The people can’t believe what has just occurred,
They tell everyone they know, in case they haven’t heard.
And today we remember that legendary play,
This Happy EASTER (SUPERBOWL) SUNDAY.
