PAIN

PAIN - it might very well be for your gain.

Not always, as sometimes it’s simply senseless hurting,
Like a broken limb that’s agonizingly disconcerting.

But other times PAIN has an important role,
To mature and transform you after it’s taken its toll.

You see, PAIN purifies and gives perspective,
And increases empathy for the collective.

It prompts action and promotes change,
It grows your patience’s capacity and range.

PAIN strengthens your character and your backbone,
And builds skills to better handle the unknown.

There can be a cautionary, protective style to PAIN,
That keeps you from getting burned by the fiery flame.

Yes, PAIN can teach you, beseech you, and reach you.

You learn a lot about yourself in the midst of PAIN,
You may experience God’s power to divinely sustain.

PAIN gives greater appreciation for the smallest of things,
And grants wisdom to deal with what tomorrow brings.

It provides stamina and a template for future troubles in our lives,
And shows us this too shall pass and we will survive.

People connect the most through their PAIN,
So deeply that it’s often hard to explain.

And maybe you’re the only one strong enough to go through what you’re going through,
To survive and then help others get through that same thing too.

For the PURPOSE OF YOUR PAIN could be to create a PANE TO YOUR PURPOSE.

So whether it’s that hole in your heart, or the bad thoughts in your brain,
That frustrating, reoccurring situation driving you insane,

Or the abuse that’s left you fragmented and stained,
Or the addiction you struggle with time and again,

Or the constant atmos-fear of pungent disdain,
Or an illness hovering, that’s been an ongoing drain,

Or a tumultuous season like a destructive hurricane,
Or the peace of a lost paradise you will never regain,

There’s likely a refinement you can attain… so please, don’t waste your PAIN.
